Jenner Headlands Preserve spans 5,630 acres of breathtaking landscapes, including redwood and Douglas-fir forests, oak woodlands, chaparral, and coastal prairie with sweeping Pacific Ocean views. Bordering the Pacific Coast Highway near Sonoma Coast State Park and the Russian River Estuary, it is home to rare and endangered species like the northern spotted owl, peregrine falcon, and red tree vole, alongside deer, bobcat, coyote, mountain lion, and steelhead trout. Acquired in 2009 through a historic partnership led by Sonoma Land Trust and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space, with contributions from state and federal agencies, foundations, and The Wildlands Conservancy, it stands as Sonoma County’s largest nonprofit land acquisition open to the public daily, free of charge.
