Announcing Our Cool Moon Mini Camp – Starts Wednesday, May 7
We’re back for a mini camp! Join us for six weeks of structured trail workouts leading up to the Cool Moon Trail Races, held June 14–15 in beautiful Cool, California (right next to Auburn). Whether you’re racing or just want to keep your training rolling through early summer, you’re welcome in the group.
Just like our spring training camp, the structure will be familiar:
Wednesday evenings (5:45 PM) for speed, drills, and hills, and Saturday mornings (7:30 AM) for longer trail runs. There’s no fee and no sign-up page — just subscribe to our newsletter and show up. Weekly workouts will be posted on the website and sent out via email. All past workouts are now unlocked as well!
What’s Cool Moon?
The Cool Moon Trail Races offer a welcoming, low-key atmosphere and take place just outside of Auburn. Race distances range from 5k all the way up to 100-miles. The course is centered on the Cool Firehouse and includes two main loops — a 13.5-mile North loop and an 11.5-mile South loop — combining a mix of scenic single-track and fire roads. The course includes some sections of the historic Western States trail but mostly weaves through Olmstead Loop, Salt Creek, and Knickerbocker trail systems, with a wide range of terrain and generous cutoff times.
Who Should Join?
This mini camp is open to all levels — even if you’re not racing Cool Moon. These next six weeks are a great time to build trail strength, stay connected, and enjoy the spring miles.
Feel free to invite a friend or two — the more the merrier!
See you out there.
