The countdown is over—Ascend Trail Running kicks off this week! We’ll start each session with a brief meet-and-greet, giving you a chance to connect with your fellow runners and get an overview of the training structure. From there, we’ll dive into the first workout, setting the tone for the weeks ahead. With rain in the forecast and our first session taking place after dark, be sure to check the weather and dress accordingly—trail shoes, moisture-wicking layers, and a headlamp are all essential. Whether you’re here to build endurance, push your limits, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of a dedicated trail-running community, we’re excited to hit the ground running with you.

Gear Up for the Trails

A solid training week starts with the right gear. With rain in the forecast and early sunsets, being prepared will make your runs more comfortable and effective.

Footwear & Apparel: Trail shoes with good grip are key for muddy sections, and moisture-wicking layers help regulate body temperature. A lightweight rain shell can keep you dry without overheating.

Hydration & Nutrition: Even in cooler weather, staying hydrated is crucial. Bring a handheld bottle or vest, and use this time to dial in your fueling strategy.

Safety & Accessories: With our first group run happening after dark, headlamps are mandatory for visibility. Also, you may want to consider gaiters to keep mud and debris out of your shoes.
